This is the bit that got missed from the main edition yesterday!
Before we push water down any pipe is often wise to check the integrity of the pipe, so we use the CCTV unit to look inside and what we find is usually disappointing and normally means more work. First we take a still image

This shows the crack and slight distortion but nothing too drastic. The silt build up is of more concern as the rest of the southbound is probably in the same condition. So we get the rods out and clear as much out as we can, the result is a lot better

Colin I agree with you. Has Andy been airbrushed out of his tremendous effort on the railway?
ReplyDeleteRegrettably, Andy now finds that other concerns must take him away from volunteering and he has stepped down from his role. Andy’s work over the years is recognised and the legacy he left in the shape of the headwalls and chambers that he built will remain for years to come.
ReplyDeleteAs with all organisations the GWSR is not immune from changes and when these come along we have to deal with them as best we can. The drainage still needs to be maintained and the team are doing their best to keep the water flowing.
Thanks for that. I wish him all the best in his endeavours.
